Dog Blog:  February 8th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Easter Parade up today!

I almost feel bad showing a pretty little Spring inspired set of beads with all the snow and wind that the East Coast is getting nailed with .... but I don't!  I do cross my fingers a fair amount these days hoping that Spring is really here to stay!  Last year on Feb. 25th I got snowed in and missed my little Sis's b-day party so I will believe it when I see it.

Speaking of little Sis she is coming over on Thurday to faux finish my kitchen cabinets.... which mean we need to prime and paint them!  Yesterday Darren took all the doors off the then we sanded most of them ready for prime tonight.  I am not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel yet on this kitchen reno but I know it will look awesome when done.  The base coat (for the faux finish) is totally freaking me out!  I don't "do" colour - just about everything I have falls into the neutral family of colour.  I think my Durango is the first ANYTHING I owned that was red!!  Now my cabinets are going to be a burnt red colour!  Can't wait to see how Sandy is going to pull it off and I am sure I will learn lots.  I will be taking loads of pics to document the process - stay tuned as I know I wil have some great before/after shots to share this weekend.

Dog Blog:  February 4th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Fallen Angel - Princess Bride and Olivine Hollows up today!!

As promised a new little creepy delight.  I went with Fallen Angel instead of Earth Angel.  I don't think I would be able to fly with that much copper on my wings!!  I have another "delight" headed into the e-forming solution this afternoon.

I cranked out several sets last night and have listed them on Etsy and shortly Ebay.  Princess Bride is a gorgeous creamy set of hollows with gold scrolls on them.  When I reduced the gold it fumed onto the base of the hollows making them absolutely delish!  Fancy Martini is a super rich mixture of Olivine and Gold Scrolls - yum!

Well we watched the season premiere of Lost last night and BIG SHOCK I am confused already.  How did he take over John's image and what exactly was the "loop hole" he had to find in order to kill Jacob???!!  I hope the entire season will not be parallel lives with them on the "Island" and them back home like nothing has ever happened.  Does Juliette really never come back? and on and on and on.  We will just have to wait and see - it's a love/hate relationship when it comes to that show let me tell ya.

Okay I need to list these Ebay auctions so check them out if you wanna see.

Dog Blog:  February 3rd, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   Wonderland - Easter Hollows and Sugared Earring Pair up today!!

Welcome to Feb-roo-wary and say hello to Spring - who says that little groundhog knows what he's doing.  Honestly have you ever seen his resume... "sits around - sleeps a lot and eats grass" - oh ya baby, hire me as a forcaster.

I have listed three new sets on Etsy this day and they are great if I may say so myself.  I miss doing hollows and I know I do them pretty good so I sat down and made a bunch last night.  The Wonderland series is my fav of them all - it may feel like Spring but I live in an Autumn hued world year round.

Movie review for today is for Book of Eli - snore!  I am a pretty big Denzel fan but this one had me wondering when they made another Mad Max movie.  We also watched the re-cap for the past 5 seasons of Lost and thank GAWD I did.  I don't remember a lot of the stuff so it was a "good thing" (thank you Martha Stewart).  Anyways tonight we watch Lost the final season and boy let me tell you they better have some bloody answers.  What is going to happen to this Lost Sub-Culture when this season is over?

Shipping is up to date and the electroformer has a new little creepy delight waiting to finish up so watch for my Earth Angel tomorrow!

Dog Blog:  January 27, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   Gold Disco Balls up!!

As I sit and type this Darren is finishing up the bathroom flooring - it is going to look so great when it is all finished - now for the paint and new countertop.

Well I have decided to sell again on Ebay.  I will try and keep things a bit different from my Etsy store but you will see some overlap.  I have listed two sets this evening - one very large set of 36 Gold Shimmer spacers and a set of Desert Morning beads.

Today was a beautiful day and I got to spend it with the Mama and Sandy... we had some bank stuff to take care of and then back to Mom's for a Butter Chicken lunch and a toast to Dad.  Can't believe that he has been gone for 7 years now!!

I have a lot of custom work going on this week but hopefully you will see a few new pieces, either on Ebay or Etsy - keep checking and give me hell if I don't keep those stores full.

Well time for dinner and maybe a martini or two - finally an earli-ish night.... it is just after 8pm!! LOL

Dog Blog:  January 25th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   Shimmer Spacers Galore today!

How beautiful does Henrietta look against this Sweet 16 birthday cake from the weekend.  Well Sarah & Emily's birthday was so much fun and there was enough sugar there to turn anybody into a diabetic!!!  The girls were sparkly and gorgeous - Happy Birthday you two!!!

Last night was Randy's birthday party at Mom's and we cooked a fabulous Indian dinner with a blackberry cheesecake (that Mom cooked) to finish it all off!!  MMMmmmm.  Today I am paying for all the fun and have finished my latte without reaping any of the caffeine benefits!

I have restocked my Etsy store with Shimmer beads and Canyon Wall spacers.  I will be spending most of the day either sitting behind the wheel of the Durango or the flame of the torch today.  I dropped Paige off at school and in an hour I have to go and pick her up.  Wouldn't be too bad but she goes to school one city over - that reminds me the truck needs more gas!

Outside the cherry blossoms are exploding - my Day Lilies are sticking their green shoots out of the ground and the Primulas are blooming.  Uuummmm is Winter over - please check the box that says YES!!!

More home renos were done this weekend as well.   Darren put down the new flooring in the main bathroom and it looks fabulous!  We also got rid of an extra couch and bed so the clutter is quickly leaving - yea!!!  The house is looking bigger again!  Now I just need to work at re-renoing the garage - moving my studio and creating a "media" room where we can all hang out together.  OMG I need more caffeine!

Dog Blog:  January 21, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   Electroformed Goth Cross & Shimmer Spacers up today!

Almost Friday ... and not a moment too soon.  Mind you this weekend is jam packed with birthday parties but I know it will be a fun time!

I have put another electroformed piece up in my Etsy store today along with replacing some Shimmer Spacers and Desert Morning beads.  I will be on the torch the rest of the day catching up on orders so chances are I won't have anything new to share.  Trying to put together another piece for e-forming at the moment as well.

Shipping is almost up to date.

Tonight we are going to watch 50 Dead Men Walking... looks pretty good and I am sure I will give you my movie opinion next blog.  We are such movie freaks! lol

Yesterday I got to spend the entire day with my little sissy Sandy.  We hung out at her place and talked renos and then walked up to Hastings Street for a sushi lunch.  I used to live in her basement suite and I became rather attached to a butcher shop that I now dearly miss.  Well I stocked up on my regular goodies yesterday and am about to go grab another hot pepperoni stick to munch on while torching.  Right now Mom is with Sandy sipping a glass of wine (or so the text picture looks like) enjoying her new hair make-over that Sandy bought her for Xmas.  By the sounds of it we are spending next Xmas in Maui for the Andies wedding - fingers crossed - I love it there!!!

Dog Blog:  January 19, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Til Death do us Part & Canyon Wall Spacers up today!!

Is is Friday yet???  This working two jobs is taking a big chunk of my energy and I'm not even the one working them!!  Beautiful outside so I will just recharge with vitamin D and maybe another latte!

Today I have a new focal to share from the electroforming bath - introducing "Til Death do us Part", now available in my Etsy store.  Along with that I have a new colour combo of spacers called Canyon Walls.  They match the Desert Morning series perfectly and to be honest go great with this heart.

I have a quick little movie review on a couple of flicks we just watched.  This morning Hayden made me watch (oh ya that was hard) Monster House.  I know there are a few big names doing the voices and I give it a thumbs up.  Maybe a bit scary for little little kidlets but all in all we enjoyed it.  Next I have a little review on a movie that we have been so excited to see.  Guy Ritchie has pulled Sherlock Holmes out of the vaults and put it on the big screen.  Unfortunately it should have stayed in the vault :>(  Big disappointment as I am such a big fan of this guy (no pun intended).  I think we made it a little over half way through the movie and gave up.  It was terribly boring much to our chagrin!  Tonight I fear our little eyeballs won't even make it through a Family Guy episode let along a full length feature....

Dog Blog:  January 18, 2010   LINK to my Etsy Store

Happy Monday morning to you all!  What a great but exhausting weekend.  Friday night we were up until 2am setting up the kids bedroom for the surprise unveiling Saturday afternoon.  Still lots more to do but they now have bunk beds and a workspace to mess up, lol.  Saturday we went to Home Depot to buy the new counter tops for the kitchen.  The location we went to only had one of the lengths so we only installed one on Saturday night and then the next one on Sunday after a brief trip to a 2nd Home Depot.  I know the kitchen is not done but I wanted to share the new counters.  Next is the faux tin giant tiles (like the old ceiling ones) for the back splash in an antiques silver, black double sink and then burnt red cabinets!  Should be very dramatic.  Oh we also bought new flooring for the main bathroom - can't wait to get on that project.  Darren is repainting/tiling it as my birthday pressie!  GAWD I love that Darren is a handy-man!!!  So does Mom, LOL.

I will be working on the torch later so hopefully you will see something new in my Etsy store.  It is warm but very windy outside so I am happy to look at the blue sky from my studio window!

FYI the original counters were a light TEAL GREEN - GAAWK!!!!

Dog Blog:  January 15th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store

Welcome to the middle of the month and as usual time is flying by at an alarming rate.  Lots has already happened and I have a few tid bits to share with you on this late update.

A big thanks to my Auntie Em for teaching me how to Viking Knit last night.   It was really easy and kinda fun!  Emilie is the fabulous jewellery creator of Lady Em's Gems.  She has a brand new website so check it out!

Last night was the opening for theMolten Obesession 2010 show and I had made a new ring to wear to it...well brain dead me left the bead in the kiln and totally forgot about it until I was already there - typical, lol.

Last weekend was Paige's BIG 7 birthday party.  I made very bright Princess cupcakes that were very yummy.  I even got to face paint skulls on little kids - totally up my alley, lol.

Tonight we are setting up bunk beds in the kids room.  Sounds like a bottle of two of wine to get through the night.  I still have to empty their room, pick up the bunk beds and then put everything back before tomorrow morning.  I am exhausted just typing about it.  Poor Darren is exhausted from teaching in the morning and then cranking out his regular afternoon shift for his job - poor guy!  Maybe coffee might be the better option for him tonight - "special coffee", lol.

I am caught up with most of my orders and emails.  My studio computer keeps giving me the "blue screen" so I am switching between this one and my laptop.  I am a bit confused on emails I have and have not answered so hang in there if you have not heard from me.  Actually this is my 2nd update as the puter crashed during my last update.  On that note I will hit UPDATE and get on with the evening!!

Dog Blog:  January 7th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Bollywood Shimmer Spacers - Brimstone Rings & Gold Foil today!!

TaDa!  Something completely new for me to share today.  Mom bought me some Gold Foil last year so I thought I would break it out last night and play.  Well I guess you don't really "play" with the gold as it is so expensive but none the less this is what I made.  I really love the contrast between the gold and black - very striking.  As well as listing these in my Etsy store I have two more additions.  I made some Bollywood Shimmer Accent beads and some really cool Brimstone sliders - check em out!

Now I am off to hunt down cupcake making supplies.  Paige turns 7 this weekend and I am making her Princess cupcakes.  It was a choice between skulls and princess items but in the end she caved to the cute little girl inside her.  Oh yes I am becoming quite the "Domestic Diva" ... two words I don't particularly care for I might add.  Just maybe I will make my own special cupcake complete with skull and bones - that might make me feel a little less like a "Soccer Mom".... not that there is anything wrong with that but the day you see me driving a mini van is the day I recreate the final scene from Thelma and Louise!!

Dog Blog:  January 5th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store

Yes here I am again but this time I have something new to share.  Here is my 2nd in The Collector series I just finished.  I am hoping to get another one in the electroforming bath later today.

Other than that I just have some movie reviews I would like to share with you.    We watch a lot of movies but not often do we actually see them in the threatre.  We knew that Avatar 3-D was a MUST SEE flick so we went........... OMG what an amazing movie from start to finish.  I will even go so far as to give it the "epic" title.  The last time a movie got the "E" rating from me is when Gladiator came out.  You also must see the 3-D version and not the regular one - truly a trip and a half.

Last night we watched Blind Side staring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw (always thought he was bald under that hat) and I have to say that we both enjoyed it.  I thought it was going to be a total tear jerker but happy to report I did not shed one drop.  Based on a true story (love those).

Darren has me watching The Godfather series now as I have never seen them.  Great movies but I am sure that everybody else on the planet already knows that.  I do have to say that they are loooonnnnnggg!

Finally I need to end this update on a negative note.  I will forever miss those two hours I lost when I watched Twilight - New Moon.  Need I say anymore!

Dog Blog:  January 4th, 2010   LINK to my Etsy Store Cell Phone and Purse Charms up Today!

I know I know you are asking yourself "how on Earth can she go from a little Rockwell photo to this!!!!"  Well it wasn't hard really, lol.  The Andies are still in Vietnam and this is a quick shot they took and emailed me.  This menu portrays a love hate relationship for me.  Both me and my little sis had pet rats growing up and we both just love them....... and then we get to the HATE section of this sentence!  Shudder - I can't even look at pics of snakes with letting our a little scream and face making - eww, even now I feel ill so I will change the subject.  See you two in a couple of days.  YA, like they are reading my blog while on vacation, lol.

Today I added four new items in my Etsy store.  Three are cell phone charms and one a purse charm.  With all these new and very sexy cell phones out there I could not even imagine putting one of those mass produced charms on them!  I have a great bead on my phone and just love it.  For Xmas Darren bought me this great purse (yes he is very Metro) and now I am wanting to really make it mine so I need to get on the whole skull charm thang but for now I have put up a deep red heart charm... perfect for the impending Valentine's Day.

Dog Blog:  December 30th, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store

Holy Hell I am hoping that time goes back to normal now that Xmas is over - what a ride!!  I thought I would share with you a pic from our trip to Stanley Park in Vancouver with the two sets of kids.  Paige and Hayden and then we have Mom and Auntie Em, lol.  The weather was amazing and the lights just as beautiful but was very happy to get home and put two VERY hyper kids into bed.  I was more tired then they were but we still have to load stockings and do all those other sort of "adult" things you do before Santa arrives - a total first for me - I will do a bit more planning for next year to retain my sanity!!

It still feels like it was yesterday but I know it is not because tomorrow is MY BIRTHDAY!!  Oh Ya Baby!!   Last night, when we got home a bouquet of flowers and a big balloon greeted us.  Darren's Mom (Donna) had sent me flowers - well I had a big smile on my face all night long!!  Tonight will be a nice mellow night for us and then the party begins tomorrow morning.  Must remember to put champagne in the fridge tonight.  Mom is coming out for the 1st part of the day and then we are planning an evening with friends and family.

I have had very limited time on the computer so if you are waiting for an email from me I will be back in the studio on Jan. 3rd, 2010 and back to normal production and shipping.  2010 - can you believe it already.  The Winter Olympics are here this year so I will be doing my best to avoid the city and the ski hills (hahahahha - like I go to either of them anyways).  I make the same New Years resolution each year and honestly have not gone too wrong with it so I shall leave you with it.  Each year I resolve to make the upcoming year even better than the last!  So far so good - Happy New Year!!

Dog Blog:  December 15, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store  Three sets of Etched Hollows - plus Pink Pearl Shimmer!

Have ya missed me - lol.  This month has truly been a blur so I am slowing down and trying to enjoy some of it.  The house is pretty much decorated and even have lights on my Pink Dogwood tree outside (thanks baby).  Next year we have plans for more lights but the snow has fallen on the ground so "light putting up" has ended.  We should see grass again by the end of this week but at the moment a few inches of the white stuff coat my yard.  We were lucky and had amazing weather when we went to my Uncle Andre and Auntie Lorna's "tree farm" to cut down our own tree.  I have not had a live tree since I lived at home with Mom and Dad.  We have two trees in the house - one my style and one Darren's style, LOL.  It was an easy compromise.

Today I have listed four NEW items in my Etsy store and this is one of them.  I don't think I have etched Autumn Harvest before and I really like the look.

In the electroforming bath is the 2nd in "The Collector" series with a 3rd ready to go ... both are a bit different with different style crosses.  I am going to try my hand at some jewelry designs as I have some flying inside my brain.  In my head I am a great "drawer" as well but when I put paint to paper they still look like stick people!  I do have a couple watercolours, I painted while sitting on the beach in Mexico, but somehow it is just not the same here ;>)

No New Years/my Birthday plans yet - feel different this year with the "Andies" in Vietnam - jerks!! lol  Last year Darren and the kidlets threw me a party but this year we are "kid-free" so I think a much bigger party will be in store!

Dog Blog:  December 7, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store

As promised a picture of the new series I am working on.  This piece is headed for the Molten Obsession show starting in January.  It was very hard to part with so this means I need to hurry up and make a 2nd one.  The series name is "The Collector" as in soul collector.  I love the ancient feel to this one!

This past weekend we headed down to Whatcom Meadows for the annual Xmas Party.  We had a great potluck dinner with 90 people.  Santa made an appearance and gave out pressies to the little kids.  Paige and Hayden had a great time and even made their own present to give to Santa - he was so touched by the gesture!  The weather was gorgeous but super cold and unfortunately we ran out of propane and we lost heat in the trailer.  Poor Darren got up before we all did and drove to the gas station to get more so we would have heat when we woke up.  He takes good care of us!

Dog Blog:  December 3rd, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store Burnt Orange Dragonfly Set up today!

Holy Hell has December ever started out beautiful ... I even washed my truck today!  This past weekend we started decorating the house - now the house looks like hell with boxes everywhere - argh!!!  The majority of my Xmas pressies have been purchased and I am quite proud of myself.

I caught up on orders last night and needed to try this new glass I bought awhile back.  I gave dragonflies another shot and made a cute little burnt orange set that you can find in my Etsy store.  No plans on making anymore of these little critters - well at least not until Spring.  This morning we went shopping for "special" items for the bead I have in the electroformer right now.  Can't wait to share with you - trying to create beads a bit "darker" or at least a little more Goth.

A BIG congratulations to my man... he just got cleared to teach in the prisons here.  The downside of this is he is doing this as well as his regular job so I will be seeing a little less of him.  At the moment he works afternoons but starting next week he will be working mornings and afternoons.  The afternoon shift works perfectly for me as I just don't feel "artistic" during the day and much prefer torching in the evenings.  This means I live on a bit of a nocturnal schedule and dinner is usually around 9-10pm with lunch time around 5pm. LOL

Well my lovelies I am inspired to hit the torch - tune in tomorrow to see what I made!

Dog Blog:  November 26, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store  Brooches and Inner Sinner pendant up today!

Happy Turkey Day too all my American friends - gobble gobble!!  Next I have to ask when does a sentence/word constitute an exclamation mark?  How exciting does it have to be as I seem to over-use this little "shift 1" item a fair bit!!!  See!!!!

The studio is back together and I can get through it without worrying about tripping/stumbling/falling over anything.  Today I have added a few finished items in my Etsy store - perfect for Xmas.  Watch for more electroforming as I have broken the kit out again - just check out this nasty little devil heart.

Well this has been quite a week for things I have needed but so excited to get them.  First my Durango got new tires as the 6 year old racing slicks were just not going to make it through another Winter....now I have mildly obnoxious sexy tires.  2nd I finally replaced my totally possessed cell.  Good by LG Chocolate and hola to my new, very SEXY LG Versa.  Both myself and Darren are very anti "i-phone", well actually "i" anything as we are not big fans of Apple.   I would have got the Blackberry Storm but I don't need/want the package you have to have with it.  3rd tomorrow I get new rotors on the Durango - she'll be good as new - man I love that truck!  Probably not very exciting for you but these are my kinda purchases!!  Tonight I need to break out another "box" of hair colour and Darren will join me with a lovely mask on his face - hehehhehheeee.  He's such a good sport!

We are sticking around this weekend and dragging the (gulp) Xmas decorations out from the crawl space.  I can't believe I am going to actually have a tree in my house but Darren (and the kidlets) love it so I shall try to embrace the whole Xmas thing.   HEY I am looking for low-carb options for holiday drinks (the adult kind) for this year.  The whole Gin & Tonic thing really feels like a Summer drink so I need something a little more hearty and even the odd warm one wouldn't kill me but remember no sugary drinks and NO fruit drinks - eeewwww!!  FYI not a fan of Egg Nog either - so much that I call it Milk Snot, LOL!!

Dog Blog:  November 24, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONNA!!!

Holy Cow it is only Tuesday and I am bagged already!  Personally I don't think I have recovered from the weekend yet so it feels like a Thursday night.

Today my little sis Sandy came and hung out for the day.  It's not often that we get to hang out all by ourselves so it was nice to catch up.  Today is also Darren's Mom's birthday - woo hoo - Happy Birthday Donna!!

It seems that Jasper has taken to the "spotlight" and pulled out another great pose for me last night.  I have called this one "King of the Jungle my ass!!".  I love the way he is perched on three different animal print pillows - just chillin', LOL.  He is a great snuggler except when he likes to sleep on my face!!

Tomorrow I am putting the studio back together and getting back on the torch.  It seems to take me a couple of days to regroup from demoing somewhere...getting everything back where it belongs and getting on track.  So rest assured I am back to work tomorrow and hopefully playing with some new designs and even making a set or two for sale.

This afternoon I received my December edition of Bead Trends where you will find a picture of one of my skeleton keys - just love the pic!!!  It is a really great issue as well so now I am going to make a dirty martini and sit back with my mag and wait for Darren to get home.  Mexican tonight and the cheese is already grated - life is good!!!

Dog Blog:  November 23, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store

Another weekend under out belts and it brings us that much closer to Xmas!  I can't believe that people have their trees up already - come on - just because the stores are already decked out it doesn't mean that we have to.  I am a BIG believer that not ONE decoration is allowed to go up before December 1st.  We have seen trees up since November 1st - there is my Xmas RANT for the day, lol.  Now I just have to figure out how to merge my and Darren's style together.  He is a traditionalist when it comes to Xmas and I am a modernist (if you will).  I like the black tree with all white lights and colour coordinated decorations and he likes red and green with tinsel and garland....should be an interesting combo, lol.

We went down to the trailer without the kidlets this weekend.  The weather was yucky so we headed down to the Skagit Valley Casino on the Saturday night to watch this great band called "the 80's Show".  There was Billy Idol - Divo -  Boy George -Madonna and Slash from G & R - they were fantastic but the real entertainment were a few certain patrons that evening.  We sat and watched people dance but 2 couples really stood out to us - LOL - one dance they were all over each other and then the next dance they changed partners and were equally smearing their bodies together!  Some time goes by and we figure out that there is a HUGE party of "swingers" there behind us.  Close to 20 in the group and hugely entertaining - we were trying to figure out if they just got one big hotel room or put all their room keys in a hat.  Sunday morning we were up early as we had to head to Mom's open house as I was demoing beads......wow what a blur of a weekend if you can even call it that.

Sorry I was not able to put up the cell phone charms on my Etsy site as Mom had them for her show.  I will be photographing finished pieces today and listing them as I go.  These will be great little items for Xmas pressies so stay tuned.

Dog Blog:  November 17, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store  Cell Phone charms up today!  Great for Xmas!!

Well it is official - my espresso machine has packed it in :>(  As a general rule I go through one a year but this last one made it 3 years!!  This past week Mom gave me a French Press and I must say it makes a yummy coffee!!  Now I can shop for my new espresso machine with no pressure.

Last weekend was my 20 year high school reunion - can you even believe it!!!  I had the best time and was amazed at how fantastic we all looked!!  I had not seen most of them since the 10 year reunion.  Who says Facebook is no good, lol.

I took this picture on Halloween day and am finally showing it to you now.  Kinda the perfect Fall day pictured - not like this past week.  Crazy wind and rain storms have rocked our area.  The wind has been so bad it has kept us awake!

On November 22nd Mom is holding an open house/gift show at her house if anybody is wanting to drop by and visit or snag some really great Xmas presents.  Auntie Em and a couple other ladies will join her and I will be doing lampworking demos if you wanna see how my beads are made.  Give me a shout and I will happily send over the info.  Now I am going to finish my latte - straighten up the kid trashed house and then head into the studio......all before 8:30am!!!  WOW

Dog Blog:  November 9, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store  Watch for Falling Autumn Leaves this afternoon!

Good Monday morning!  Now that the weather has changed and we are seeing cooler temperatures and more rain the cats have spent a lot more time inside the house - thank GAWD for the cat/dog door!  As I type this I have a cat on either side of me.  Muzzy with her little tiny face and feet and then we have Jasper with his big... well everything!  This pic was taken Friday night as we all were chillin on the couch watching movies.  Jasper did the most chilling and I have the pic to prove it.  He has turned into this amazing giant cat with loads of personality.  He can still be a jerk from time to time, and Muzzy still keeps her distance for fear of being put into a head lock but he is much better than a year ago.

Today I need to catch up and finish some orders - maybe venture out into the rain to the post box - tidy up the house and then wait for the kids to mess it up again, lol.  Actually they are pretty good at cleaning up when asked and Paige is good at sweeping and Hayden taking out the garbage.  I am kinda seeing why people have kids now ;>)

I am pretty excited about purchasing two more Xmas presents online.  I am doing my best to support other artisans and buying hand-made this year.  I am working on a theme for everybody on my "list".  This year our family will be split up for Xmas as the Andies are heading to Thailand for the holidays and my birthday/New Years.  This is the first time in many years we won't be together as a family and I am none too happy about that.  We are all getting together on Wednesday to enjoy some family time - fingers crossed the weather is a bit nicer and we can sit outside for a bit.

If you ever need Xmas ideas go check out Etsy for the most amazing gifts for anytime of year.  There are so many ideas and price points you can do all your shopping with a click of a mouse and avoid those terrible shopping malls and parking lots!!!

Dog Blog:  November 6, 2009  LINK to my Etsy Store  Autumn Harvest party pack listed today!

As promised a pic of the pumpkins we carved this Halloween - gee can you guess which one I did, LOL.  Every Halloween I would go to my friend's Cindy and Joe's to carve fabulous pumpkins - we made a day of it.... actually it was just myself and Cindy as Joe wanted nothing to do with gunky pumpkin guts, lol.  Well I have not seen them the last few Halloweens so I decided to surprise them this year and show up with the kids for an early "trick or treat"......well the trick was on me because they had moved 2 months earlier to another city!!

The power did go out last night ..... to all my neighbors but ME.  My neighbor Sebastian called me and told me to look out my window - WOW everything was super dark, I had not even noticed that the power went out all around me.  I think I should go and buy a lottery ticket today, lol.  We just stayed in and watched movies and had some wine.

I have three sets of different styles of beads but they were all made with Autumn Harvest so they all go together.  I was going to put them up as one big set but decided to break it up into three.  I am calling them the Autumn Harvest Party Pack and are now in my Etsy store.

FINALLY my pictures are uploading and I can now share with you A-Choo he says "don't get the H1N1 flu shot".... my statement of the week.  Both myself and the Mama got pretty sick but we are just fine now.  Please do your research if you plan on getting this injection (that's all I'm gonna say)...except A-Choo is on Etsy.

Halloween was absolutely fabulous.  We were one day shy of a full moon - it was warm out and the rain stayed away.  I can't believe how much candy those kids got and sadly only ONE Reese Peanut Butter Cup (single) and 2 small bags of Hawkins Cheesies.  I confiscated those items immediately but sent them back to their Mom's with about 12 pounds of candy/chocolate.  Tomorrow I will share a couple of pics of the pumpkins we carved!!

I am typing this update with a major "wind warning in effect"...... OMG it's crazy out there and expect the power to go out at any time so I will keep this short.  I will update you all tomorrow!!

Well how weird is this update - I can't upload any new photographs - DAMN!!  I wanted to show your my little piggy A-Choo.  He is the anti-H1N1 Flu shot bead I made.  If you wanna see him just click on the Etsy link and check him out.

As I type this Darren is up in my attic crawl space cutting holes in my ceiling.  The plan is to install new track lighting for my artwork.  Let's just say he is not having a fun time as the pitch on my roof is rather shallow!!   It was his idea but I will have a yummy drink ready for him when he gets down and I do the clean up.

Yesterday I spent most of the day trying to load up my Etsy store for you holiday shoppers.  I am doing the majority of my Xmas shopping on Etsy as I feel it is very important to support my fellow artisans.  Besides where else can you get one of a kind cool stuff - at great prices - and not have to deal with other holiday shoppers.  Today my first Etsy purchase arrived and I am having a very hard time figuring out if I am keeping it or giving it to Darren, lol.  I knew I should have ordered two!!!

Fingers crossed I can upload pics tomorrow!  Darren is down from the attic and I am going to make us dinner and finish watching Harry Potter (Half-Blood Prince), so far so good.

Just when I think I am keeping up on my blog this happens.....I had no idea the days were going by twice as fast as normal!!  I have some great beads to share with you but could not resist this picture from Darren's cell.  A couple of weekends ago we went down to the trailer to winterize it, well as we were driving down on the the back roads we drove smack into the most beautiful rainbow we had ever seen.  We pulled over (like the car in front of us) and Darren took a quick shot with his cell.... little did he know that Jack was beaming away at the very same rainbow, lol.  Honestly this shot does not do it any kind of justice.  We kept driving until it looked like we were right inside the rainbow and funnily enough it ended very close to the Skagit Valley Casino - coincidence - I think not!!

This past weekend was the Port Moody Rock & Gem show and as usual I demoed making beads, hung out with the Mama and had a great time.

The past couple of weeks I have been clinging onto my cold and catching up on a few movies.  We finally watched Stark Trek and I have to say what an awesome show!!!  I also was talked into watching Shaun of the Dead and loved it as well.  Honestly I thought it was going to be a scary show and have avoided watching it for years - oh yes I am a chicken when it comes to horror and with Halloween just a few days away the selection of shows is mind-boggling.  Last Halloween, after the kidlets hit the sheets, I let Darren choose the horror (1408) and I fell asleep.  I have a feeling he will choose a really scary one this year and I won't be able to sleep.   I seem to have this amazing ability to bring a movie/show I have watched just before bed, and create dreams about it.  What's so crazy about that you ask, well I also have this ability to not be able to tell the difference between what has actually happened and what I dream about - yea I'm weird but my dreams are so vivid that sometimes I think they have actually happened.  Logic usually raises it's little head and says to me "HEY - do you really think that you were riding a talking polar bear" just before I open my gob and tell everybody about this pet bear I just got, lol.

Back to reality - I am shipping - cleaning - photographing and making beads all day.
