Welcome to the new Caliente Art Glass!

Dog Blog:  August 26th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  More goodies up plus lots of Ebay auctions!!

The weekend has come and gone and we are due for another in two days.  Yesterday it was like thirty degrees and today is chilly and rainy.  It is hard for me to change gears that bloody fast.  Yesterday tank top - today hoody!!

The the cooler weather brings more productive torch time!  Just catching up on custom orders and then testing a bunch of new glass I got!!  Thought I would share a set of my Canyon Wall spacer beads.  I made them during the full moon and I got these gorgeous streaks of burnt orange - who knew!?

This past weekend we spent another "kid free" weekend down at the trailer.  Our neighbors had a big pot luck with a bunch of other Whatcom Meadow members.  WOW the food was fantastic and sitting around the fire blabbing all night was super fun too.  Later that evening I got to try my first marshmellow shooter - basically you take a GIANT marshmellow, stick it on a big dowel to make the cup and then roast it on the fire.  Remove from flame once perfectly burnt, fill it with Baileys and shove the entire thing into your mouth.  A little forwarning - VERY MESSY - but Oooo Soooo Goooood!

The new lawn in the back has taken root and is growing like crazy!  I have mowed it once but it is in desperate need of another good whack.  After laying sod I am not sure why on Earth people throw down grass seed for a new lawn ... okay maybe to fill it a patch or two but never for a big patch of brown dirt!!  The other night we dragged our chairs down to the far end of the lawn and enjoyed a glass of wine while looking at the deck instead of being on the deck - it was gooood!!

Tis wedding season and that is exactly where we were this weekend.  Darren's sister (Michelle) got married in Port Alberni this weekend and this is my fav shot of the bunch.  What you don't see is melting guests and bridal party - it hit 37 degrees while there and stayed HOT HOT HOT the entire time!  As I can't really deal with excessive heat, without being able to get out of it, I became inventive.    After the actual ceremony I dragged out the "dog pool" and filled it full of nice cold water from the hose.  Within probably 5 minutes the pool was full of naked little feet and we spent most of the day there, lol.  Instantly body temperatures were lowered and a smile crept back onto my sweaty face.

We left Port Alberni on Sunday at 1:30pm to catch the ferry back home with a quick detour to Coombs to check it out (neat little place).  As we arrive to the ferry line up we are told to put on our "four way flashers", diverted MILES up a hill with a little blue note stuck in our windshield - oh CRAP this did not look good.  To sum it up we spent the next four plus hours in a line up with a zillion other cars in the blazing sun waiting to get back to the Mainland.  We finally sneaked onto the 7:30 ferry but were threatened the 9pm ferry - after that ferry there is one more and that is it for the night.  There were many poor souls spending the night in the parking lot line up :>( and I truly felt for them.  We got home at 10:30pm to find hungry cats and a thirsty lawn ... I never slept so good!!

As much fun as we had visiting family we have decided that it will be a cold day in hell when we make the trip back to Vancouver Island.

The weather is still toasty here but there is a promise of rain later in the week - yee haw!!!

.... Next wedding ....        the Andies in Maui - woo hoo!!

Dog Blog:  August 12th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Autumn inspired focal and hollows up today!

As I type this update I have a latte on one side of me and a box of kleenex on the other - oh yes I managed to get me a Summer Cold.  What's even better is that we have a wedding to go to on Saturday so I guess today I am heading out to the drug store to see what I can see.  Should I also mention that our heat wave is back :>(

As I was in the bed for the past three days I also managed to let the insurance on the Durango expire - bad bad bad!!  You know that when you drive "sneaky" you are like the biggest heat score in the world.  I made it through the main drag of town until I spotted a police cruiser five cars behind me in the opposite lane.  Well I spend the next mile making sure my plate was too far to see by the human eye.  Honestly the tag on the plate is like 1x1".  So after careful accelation and hiding between cars I make it to the turn off for the insurance place only to have an unmarked cruiser pull in behind me ... and I mean right behind me .... like if I were to apply my breaks I would have an officer in my back seat, lol.  So I pull into the parking lot, park and proceed to get my insurance papers out as the car blocks my exit and puts on it's lights.    After the formalities I make my own warning not to get too close or I will shoot you with my germs.  Good news is I had a cute outfit on, fresh hair and makeup and a couple of "good-girl" smiles going on so I did not get the ticket (which was $600.00).  He left and I marched into the insurance place and got not only vehicle insurance but renewed my yearly travel insurance.  As I saved myself six big ones I headed to the closest shopping mall - hell if you really look at it I was up six hun for the day, lol.

So anyways I did manage to put a couple of Autumn inspired sets in my Etsy store.  A great set of hollows in a sunflower yellow and deep purple and then a falling leaf that sprouted wings.

Dog Blog:  August 9th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store

Well you guessed it - Saturday was "sod day"!!  I can't believe how fast the backyard was transformed into a place I didn't like to a place I LOVE!.  From the time the sod was loaded onto the back of the truck until I was washing off the mud on the deck was a whopping total of 2 hours.  It took absolutely no time to put down and the price could not be beat.  I had a landscape guy quote me $2000.00 to do a job that cost me $140.00 in grass!!!  I think I might be in the wrong business, lol.  It was raining when we put it down and has been ever since which is perfect for it to take root.

Last night I met with two girlfriends that I went to highschool with.  So much fun to hang with Laura and Liana again.  Laura has stayed local where as Li moved to Saudi to teach!  Neat to hear stories of a totally different culture not to mention the fable that their gas price is $0.16 per ltr!!

Today I have a fuzzy head which signals to me that a cold of some kind is coming on.  I just ate my vitamins and will take further actions a bit later after I am done in the studio.  Think it will be an early night for me or maybe just a veg night with my boys watching a movie or two.  Paige is on the Island so tonight it's just me against them, lol.

Dog Blog:  August 5th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Autumn Orbs and Desert Night up today!

Well it seems like I am in full Autumn mode - mind you I generally gravitate to this colour pallet anyways.  I thought about etching the set shown but refrained and have now listed them in my Etsy store.  I have another set listed that would go great with the set shown below.

Summer is still in full force here but we had a great display of thunder and lightening the other night.  Tonight the forcast is for more and I can't wait!  Last night the four baby raccoons came back and ate the fallen cherries off the deck.  One of them even laid down and just ate the cherries within reach, lol.  The cats sat back and watched and Muzzy gave the odd hiss when one of the babies came too close to her - there was no mama this time??  Not sure where she was - still thinking about kidknapping of them ;>)

Yesterday I headed down to my fav salon and got my hair chopped - now to figure out how to make it look as good as she did.  I have had this cut before but it's been awhile so I have to retrain myself and probably break out the straightening iron.  Thank GAWD the house stays cool enough to do this as yesterday's temp his 90 degrees - eww-yuck!

Clash of the Titans ROCKED!!

Dog Blog:  July 30th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store    Sets of Hollows and Down the Rabbit Hole up today!

I think I have finally given up on being surprised on how fast time goes by.  Yes we are here at another Friday and I have beads to share - OMG I know!!!  I had a blast on the torch yesterday and managed to get three NEW sets listed in my Etsy store.  Besides this set, called "Down the Rabbit Hole", I have two more sets of hollows.  One in gorgeous jewel tones and the other just simple ice blue but just as stunning.  This set is named the way it is as it totally goes with my series called "Wonderland" - well that and it's kinda weird like the movie, lol.

Last night Mama racoon brought her four little babies by to eat the cherries off the deck - bless their little hearts.  Man are those little suckers cute.  If it wern't for the massive blood loss, stitches, rabies shots and everything else that follows a wild animal attack I would totally steal one of them in a heart beat!  I would feed it and brush it and name it George ;>)

We are really looking forward to the beautiful weather and kid free weekend - we get one of these a month and we try to make the most of it.  Interject Yoda here - there is no try only do!!  Or was it Mr. Myagi giving Daniel-san a pep talk.  Oh that reminds me I totally want to see Karate Kid - mental note ... put on the list of movies to see .... along with Sex and the City 2.  This weekend we are going to watch Clash of the Titans - will let you know my review next week.  Have a wonderful weekend and try to get more sleep then I will be getting.

OMG that is my man with instructions in his hand - see not your "typical" guy!  To be honest the instructions are totally insane to read and very confusing but how you see the shed is as far as I got it awhile ago.  Now it is happily sitting in it's new location (pic) and has both the roof and doors on it - oh and is even full of crap now.

The yard work last weekend went even better than planned.  Most of the lovely flower beds are GONE, much to the Mama's dismay.  I have tired of the English Garden look and am stream lining the entire front yard.  The back is all ready for sod and Darren even built two long raised sections with 4x6" ties and filled them with bark mulch on either side for lighting.

Yesterday me and the Mama started grinding out select kitchen tiles for the new stainless ones.  About an hour or so into the job she just said F*&#*K this let's rip them all out.  At this point the house is covered in a very light film of ground GREEN GROUT so I conceeded and now the kitchen is void of any tiles.  What a brillant idea - why the hell did we not do this from the beginning.  I know this is the long weekend but some of it will be spent mulling over tile ideas.  One we are both in love with is stainless subway tiles - the whole DAMN thing!!!  Would look fab!

My back seems to be back to normal and even managed a workout this morning.  Also before it gets too hot I will be on the torch catching up on orders!!  So I am off for a shower, then a latte and then FIRE!!!

WOW I see that I only update the dog blog on Fridays - hmmm maybe reliving last weekend helps me segway into this weekend??!!  Nonetheless here is a pic that really is only titled "the Other white meat".  Yes F section, down at Whatcom Meadows had another pig roast and oh man what fun.  Personally I think the pig looks like he is smiling a little bit too.  The weather was great and we throughly enjoyed our two days.  The kids set up a chocolate stand and were sold out within 2 hours - pppsssssst chocolate sells faster then lemonaid!!  A couple of fires, walks and swiming in the pool were enjoyed but alas back to reality.  We are staying home this weekend to 1.  get a load of gravel 2.  watch Darren make a pad for the garden shed 3.  watch Darren take apart the garden shed I so loveingly errected 4.  watch Darren re-errect my lovely garden shed 5. watch Darren prep the back yard for the new sod and then 6.  watch Darren enjoy the lovely drink I make for him.  Yes that is about all the talent I can muster this weekend.  I screwed my back AGAIN and am only good for making beverages and typing on the computer.  I will try to sit at the torch today on my new yoga ball - fingers crossed that no stray glass shards go flying.  First I think I need a nap or double latte - this entire week I have had very little sleep, between being in back agony and the action next door.  Actually because I was sitting on the couch, in the dark, with an icepack on my back did I hear two punks breaking into the house beside me.  I called the cops and they came with guns and tracking dog.  At one point they ran across my back deck chasing one of the little jerks - the cops even managed a little wave to us, lol.  Not sure if they got the little creeps or not but it sure scared the crap-ola out of em.  Before I end this update I would like to tell you that is is a "paragraph free" zone today.  Have a wonderful weekend everybody!!!

Dog Blog:  July 16, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Beach Glass Heart pairs up today!

I love Cheesies - there I said it and NO I won't be getting help for this guilty little pleasure.  FYI there is only ONE kind of Cheesies and they are the Hawkins kind to clear up any little bit of confusion.

Anyways here we land on a Friday again and as I do my blog update and sip a fab little (not so little) latte, little (okay again not so little) Jasper is passed out beside me.  Probably tired from sleeping all night, lol.  Well today also marks an end of an era - yes my lawmower loaning neighbor has sold his house and moved to other pastures.  He phoned to give me news and chat a bit and by the sounds of it the house will now be a rental - ack!!  I also find out I have been living beside the son of a famous ... no VERY famous rockstar's kid, lol.  Ya just never know do ya.

So have you stopped gawking at this amazing colour combo yet??  Desert Morning beads spoon Purple Passion Accent beads in an almost sinful way.  The two paired together look fab.  The great thing about the Desert Morning beads is that they go with so many different colours.  I took a set of them to my friend's bead store (Kellie's Bead Boutique) and started putting sets together - really an endless endeavour.

The weather is still hovering at 25 degrees - perfect for every kind of activity both inside and out.  Yesterday I sprayed the backyard's weed population with a product that was labeled "ecosense"....well good GAWD that stuff is totally offensive to my little nostrils  (yes I do mean little this time) - even as I sit inside and type this I can smell that crap wafting through the open French doors!!  Well my darlings I am off to the studio for the day - have a rockin' weekend .... I know I will ;>)

What crazy weather we have been encountering but I think it has mellowed out to some perfect temperatures for now.  On Saturday Darren pulled the old motor out of the Nova and then we spent the rest of the day getting the backyard ready for new sod.  Sunday we headed up to Harrison Hot Springs for the Festival of Arts on the beach - lunch on a patio and then hanging out by the "lagoon" beside the lake.  The pic is of the lagoon but if I were to show you the lake you would see a much more GIANT puddle of water!  Harrison is kinda like a resort/vacation place and takes about 45 minutes to get there from my place.  Lots of people have cabins you can only access via boat.

I would like to bring to your attention that these children have the pallet of a dog's backside.  Yes a rather "Gordon Ramsay" insult but OMG these kids are insane, lol.  We always grocery shop together and they are part of the input for food here.  Well they wanted green beans for dinner so I bought a bag.  Green beans and "chicken & rice" .... if they could eat that every day they would be in Heaven!!  They looked pretty old and leatheresque but the options were just not there.  So I steamed them and we all had some for dinner.  OMG they were disgusting but it was the first thing off the kids plate - they loved the old suckers.  I had bought enough for two dinners and let me tell you Darren and myself donated our portions to the kids, lol.  They chomped them up!!

Dog Blog:  July 10th 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Caged Dancer up today!

Holly HELL it's hot out there!!  Normally I would not complain as much but it went from very chilly temps and rain to a whopping 90 degrees overnight!  Yes I know many of you are saying "big West Coast baby" but I am not a big fan of super warm weather.  When I was a bit younger I got heat stroke so bad that just my skin being in the sunlight made me barf.  It still affects me but as long as I can get out of the heat and cool down I am fine.

Okay on to today's piece.  It is called "Caged Dancer" and is my new adventure with copper washers and glass.  The great thing about copper is you can melt glass directly onto it!  After I created this free-formed pendant I put the entire piece into the electroformer for a couple of days.  Unfortunately I lost the hammered copper look but I do love this look as well.  I made a 2nd piece that looks like a big glass drop covered in gold leaf and then encased in clear but the Mama took that away from me before I was finished as she had her own vision for the piece.

Good news around here is that yard work is being done.  I have "hired" a person with a truck to haul away all of the tree and shrub cuttings - on their 3rd load now.  Tomorrow the deck will be rejuvenated back to it's original self and then protected againt the elements.  What else - oh Darren will be spending the day working on the Nova and hopefully pulling the old motor and prepping the new motor - now what can I suck the kidlets into doing, lol.

Alright I am off to complete my shipping and the hopefully making a slushy drink and hang out by the fan - did I mention it was HOT out!!  Have a great weekend everybody.

Dog Blog:  July 7, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Glowing Martini up today!

If at first you don't succeed hire somebody to do it next time.  This came to me as I look at my finger nails thinking "holy cow are my nails ever trashed - I should give myself a manicure or something".  Then I thought OMG why!!!  There is a perfectly fantastic spa just down the road from me and they would do a much better job.  I am the type of person to apply nail polish and then immediately folds the laundry, lol.  At least at the spa you are held captive until those little suckers are dry.

The very long weekend is finally over and oddly enough we spent Canada Day in the US and the Fourth of July in Canada.  This past weekend we had an "adult only" weekend down at the trailer as the kidlets were visiting their grandparents on Vancouver Island.  Oddly enough we didn't stay up any later then usual and were out of bed early in the morning.    Michelle the "relocater" struck again in Section D and at one point I did try and move a golf cart across the road into another lot but gave up on that.  This time it involved a basketball hoop and ball, woodland creatures and road signage. Poor Darren just sits back and watches and I must add is very patient with my antics, lol.  The weather was just fine and we managed lots of walks and berry picking - to which I might add I am offically done with eating berries from vines this year.

All of a sudden Summer has shown up in full force.  A week full of 30 degree (+) weather has shown up and I will be inside the studio torching away.  That's okay I'm not a big fan of really warm weather anyways.  I have lots of shipping to do today so my walk to my post box will give me my Vit. D.

Movie review:  Alice in Wonderland - okay pretty weird - glad I saw it but probably won't watch it again.  Hot Tub Time Machine - okay pretty stupid - won't get back those 2 hours of my life.  Green Zone - loved it - watching it again!  The Back-Up Plan - cute and enjoyed this very predictable fluff movie.  Kick-Ass - clearly I am too old to watch and enjoy this movie.  She's Out of My League - again cute fluff.  Finally When in Rome - fun cute fluff movie.  There I think I am mostly up to date!!  Have a great week everyone!!

Dog Blog:  June 30th, 2010 LINK to my Etsy Store  NEW Shimmer Accent Bead colours up today!

Sometimes when I have no idea what to make I play around with my Pixie Dust and rods of colour I never use.  Well I have now created two new colours:  Sapphire and Brass.  I am not a big blue fan and you won't see many things I create with the colour blue in them but I am pretty in love with these.  The 2nd colour is Brass and it goes PERFECT with all this vintage findings I see and love.  I am really taken up with all the Steampunk work out there so I try to create work that would compliment it... hey one day I might even try my hand at it, lol.

Tomorrow starts our Canada Day long weekend - of course when you are self employed every day is a potential work day and tomorrow is no different for me.  Darren has the day off with pay and I have no idea what that is like, LOL.  I guess I am saying that shipping might take a couple extra days to get to you now.

I have a MASSIVE project starting next month but I can't share the info until the launch of it and find out how insane my life will become!  You may see me drop off the face of the earth with bead listings.  It will be lampworking and that is all I'm gonna say for now.

The kidlets are now finished school for the Summer.  Come this Fall Paige is heading into Grade Two and Hayden into Kindergarten - woo hoo!!  Good job munchies!

Dog Blog:  June 25th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Vampire Ball and NEW Shimmer ACCENT bead colours up today!

Yay Friday is here and I am almost finished for the night.  Darren work's afternoons, which I have to say, works out quite well for my creative schedule.  I have a hard time being "creative" before 4pm!!??  I am a nocturnal person at heart.  Don't get me wrong I can do all my photographing, editing, shipping and cleaning beads during the day but I don't light that torch until late afternoon.  Well enough about me let's talk about this new set....  Vampire Ball.  The entire time I was putting this together I kept thinking once made into jewelry it would make an amazing piece for a Vampire.  I guess maybe I am too absorbed into True Blood, lol.  Either way it, along with a few new colours of Shimmer ACCENT beads are in my Etsy store this evening.  Check out the Sapphire - OMG gorgeous!!

The weather is gorgeous (finally) and I got lots of yard work done .... even cut down an entire tree.  While I was weilding a saw I took it to my apple tree in the front yard and gave it a good prune.  Now I can mow the lawn under the tree without having to get on my knees.  I got a new lawmower and it works awesome - I have not broke the news to my neighbor Sebastian as of yet.  The deal was I used his lawnmower and he never paid for gas .... I guess he will figure it out soon enough when he runs out, lol.
This weekend we are staying close to home and I have a couple of excursions planned - one to a cheese farm - mmmmmmmm!  Sunday over to the Abbotsford Farmers market so we can grab some fresh veggies and maybe a couple more tomato plants for the deck and a hanging basket or two.  Wanna try those Heirloom to-mats this year.  Well it is officially cocktail hour here so you all have yourself a wonderful weekend :>)
Dog Blog:  June 22nd, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store

Happy 2nd day of Summer!  Well the 1st one sucked big time but so far today is looking very lovely - I might even have to change out of a sweat shirt!!

The weekend - ala Lobster Day/Father's Day was a great one.  Here Henrietta is trying to learn a few choice Newfoundland words from the lobsters that just got off the jet from the East Coast.  Later that night both Darren and myself became honorary Newfies after reciting a Newfie saying (long may your big jib draw) drinking a shot of Screech, eating a hunk of "Newfie Steak" and then kissing a Cod fish on the lips.  Needless to say we had a great time.  On the Sunday we had a fire all day and made fire starters out of old candles, dryer lint and pine cones.

We are home again and I am finished running everybody around and now heading to the studio for the rest of the week.  I have a few Ebay auctions up and will hopefully be adding to my Etsy store tomorrow.  For now I will finish up my shipping - have a fabulous 2nd day of Summer!

Dog Blog:  June 16, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   For the Love of Lavender up today!  SOLD

Countdown to "Lobster Day" T Minus 3 days!  OMG that reminds me of the movie Countdown to Liquor Day - one of the Trailer Park Boys movies.  Not sure if the TPBs are just a Canadian thing and I know of lots of people who don't like the show but I gotta say I LOVE em!!  I am a big fan of Rickyisms.  I don't know how they do half the stuff they do with a straight face.

I decided to share this pic of the latest set to hit my Etsy store.  I thought the close up pic was very pretty but if you want to see the entire set you gotta click on the link.

The weather has been cool and sucky which means I am headed to the studio to torch the afternoon/night away.  Too icky to mow the lawn or pull weeds.  I do have a couple of items to put on Craigslist but will save that little treat for later, lol

Why cats are useless #15 - yet again I lose my cell phone - look ALL over the house about 10 times with no luck.  I even look in the fridge and freezer thinking that my mind has finally totally turned to goo.  I decide to send it a text from my computer - DING DONG (that's the noise my cell makes when I get a text - most people think somebody is at my door, lol) I hear the damn thing but where oh where OH MY GAWD Muzzy is sleeping on the damn thing!!  Bloody useless cat ;>)

Dog Blog:  June 14th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   Pirate Booty Up Today!!

Has another weekend already gone by??  I think this one really flew by because I worked most of Saturday :>( but Saturday night was our big family get-together at my cousin Melinda's gorgeous home!  Relatives came by car - boat and plane to make it to this fabulous outdoor event.  The weather was perfect!  Sunday was spent running around with a little bit of chillin'.   The morning was kind of icky out so I put on a warm hoodie only to see the skys clear and the sun come out.  OMG I was cooking so much I had to stop and buy a new shirt (ya like I needed an excuse to clothes shop ;>).  We had hoped to catch the season premiere of True Blood but missed it so fingers crossed we can watch it tonight.  Preview look awesome!  I have not talked about the season finale of Lost due to the overwhelming amount of disappoint both myself and Darren felt.  When it was over we both gave each other the "huh" look.  Still many questions unanswered and lots that didn't make any sense.  Oh well - maybe when they come out with the "dumbed down version" of it all I might give it another go.

I have listed a couple of RESERVED items in my Loose Beads section on this site.  I forgot how easy to was to list here and if I have a bit of time I might keep on listing here as well as Etsy and Ebay.  This great skull and bones stir stix is one of them.  I use mine every morning to mix the espresso in my French press - LOVE IT!!

Dog Blog:  June 11,  2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   Check out both Etsy and Ebay today!

You know I would almost consider getting one of those little cell phone hangers, that you put around your neck, if cell phone "vibes" weren't so bad for you!  I swear I lose that damn thing several times every day only to find out it is usually sitting beside me!  I use my cell as an alarm clock as well and when I push SNOOZE (sometimes one too many times) I usually put the phone on my stomach and immediately can feel the vibes from the phone.  I try to use speaker phone as much as possible as well.  Moral of the story ......... ya well make your own up as I have not had breakfast yet so my brain is not working.  Oh there is a good moral .... eat a good breakfast every morning, lol.

I have been working on listing on Ebay again and have listed several items with a "Buy It Now" option.  The BIN items are the same price as my Etsy store but really just hoping to open up my market a bit more.  I used to be a Power Seller on Ebay but decided to bring that "power" over to Etsy instead, lol.  The link to my Ebay auctions is just to the left.

Well Friday is upon us and the forcast is calling for beautiful weather but at the moment I am having a hard time believing it.  We have a big family BBQ this weekend and can't wait to see all my family again - it's a pretty BIG one!  Then one more week until LOBSTER weekend - oh ya baby!  Can't wait to get some good shots of those big Atlantic lobster we will be chomping on!  Have a great weekend as I am off to the Post Box to get today's shipment out.

Dog Blog:  June 10th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store   Goodies up today!

As I type this I long for some Summer weather so I went through some pics from last year's travels.  This was taken on one of our cruises (of course where I had food poisoning) and I wanted to share it.  Summer has been a bit evasive so far but I am still holding out for some awesome weather this weekend.  Yesterday I had the AC on the Durango all charged up ready for some cookin temperatures!!

This afternoon I have spent putting up a bunch of Ebay auctions and a couple more items in my Etsy store.  All shipping is up to date if the order is complete and custom orders will be finished by tonight.

Darren's Mama (Donna) left this afternoon for her two day journey back to Stewart - man time sure flies but we had some really great visits.

So now I long for another vacation to a warm destination and mostly that I don't get injured or sick... I know, I know it's just not a vacation unless that happens but I have decided to change my mind set to only have "injury free" trips for now on!

Dog Blog:  June 7th, 2010  LINK to my Etsy Store  Some hollows with lots of glitz up today!

Hellloooo SEXY sink!  I never thought I would admit this but yes it does make dishes a bit more fun.  Oh and YES again that is a Scrubby Frog!!  I made this little guy back when I owned a "paint your own pottery" studio in Calgary.  I have a small collection of theses little guys dating all the way back to 1975, one even painted by my Uncle Julien, lol.

This past weekend was spent hanging out with Darren's Mama and sitting on the deck between rain showers.  We were feeding raccoons last night so she could get a good pic of them.  They don't have raccoons up North and we don't have Grizzly Bears - pretty fair trade if you ask me!  Today was spent hanging out with my Mama at an artist co-op and then to the pub for lunch.  Finally I am back in the studio warming up the kiln - it seems like so long.  I tell ya that whole back ordeal really threw a wrench into my schedule.

I have listed a few favourites in my Etsy store today and will list a couple of Ebay auctions tomorrow sometime.

Since I have been flat on my back for the past few days I have no beads to share but I have a couple kitchen updates.  This is the new colour for the cabinets... yes they were finished quite awhile ago!!  Little Sis Sandy finished them to look like rich leather and they go great with the new countertops.   The wall colour was changed to a soft latte colour from that sage green.   Now see those little "fruit" tiles placed every 4th tile - well that is what did my back in.  I am grinding the grout out so they can be replaced with stainless tiles.  The first four came out lickity-split but alas there are 15 more to go.  Once they are out a rich dark red will be painted over the tiles with several layers of clear.... can't wait.  Also the new gorgeous espresso brown sink was installed by my handy-man!!  It looks great and almost makes doing dishes a bit more fun.  A little FYI that painting in the background is just a sliver of a really cool painting my sister did.  Actually I have a lot of her original work and I now even have one from her fiance!  Now I am hunting for more artwork for the kitchen that will set off that RED!

Last night was spent in Vancouver as Darren's Mama is in town.  Of course we stayed up late and only got four hours of sleep so it will be an early one for me tonight.  Tomorrow will be spent packing up orders and getting a couple of custom ones completed.  Hell maybe even an Etsy listing or two!!

Oh ya baby we have made it to another Friday!!  Lady Ga Ga is playing on the computer while I type this so there is a fair amount of seat dancing going on, lol.

I had to share this super cute pic of the kids and our neighbor's son from last weekend.  They were waiting for their pancakes with such patience.  We did spend a full three days down there for the May long weekend.  Saturday was a full day of BBQing served by volunteers dressed in 50's gear followed by a Soc Hop with great music.  Both Darren and myself loaded our "Vegas" glassware which held enough booze to satisfy an Irish rugby team so we didn't have to "reload" all night long, lol.... come to think of it I still had some sitting there the next morning and this was after sitting at the fire after the kids went to bed!!

This weekend the new kitchen sink is being installed and we are FINALLY watching the season finale of Lost - O Thank GAWD!!!  6 years of my life - constant questions and pure confusion will finally be over!!!!!!  True Blood will be starting in a couple of weeks so that will carry us through until we find another series to be hooked on.  On a show note I did watch Dear John last night and loved it.  A very Notebook feel to it... I believe it was produced by the same guy so that makes sense.  I have also watched Date Night and All About Steve.  DN was kinda cute and fun and AAS is a total pass.  Pretty disappointing as I love both the main actors.

Well it is 6:30pm and I am half an hour late for cocktail hour.  Have a wonderful weekend everybody.
